It’s a MONDAY!
Cooked a pork butt yesterday, and just thought that cutting
off the fat would leave enough meat to make good stuff for the dogs to eat.
Someone needs to remind me that cutting off the fat just really does not work
on pork! Gave the neighbors a frozen pork butt and will hang a sack with all
the trimmings off this one for Jeanie on her gate tonight or soon. Her dogs
probably will eat this stuff without even turning up their noses. My dogs gave
me this look. You know the one. ## Apparently, they think it is ok if barbecued.
Went to the dentist this morning and was told to come back
in four to six months. The dark spot was not a cavity. The other place doesn’t
really need to be messed with just yet. Then the denture place called and said
to be there in the morning at 10:30 for a try in. My guess is that this will be
the one where we decide that my mouth needs to grow larger to accommodate all
that dental work—or just become accustomed to biting less. Really do not enjoy
trying to adjust to new dental work. At least they make dentures to fit on a
person’s gums. Can’t imagine how this worked out for folks before dentures
became commonplace.
Gave the hens a head of cabbage early this morning when the
coop door was opened. It is G O N E already! They really like that stuff. Guess
it is good for them. Thought about giving them some of the pork butt fat, but
not sure it is good for them. Has no salt in it, but still, it might mess them
up. Sterling might know, but he never gave his chickens anything except what
the feed company brought them.
Turned the water on long enough to fill the bowls and the
one big water jar inside the coop. This time of the year means remembering to
cover the faucet as soon as it is turned off and disconnected from the hose.
Left it on the other night and had to wait until it thawed! Doofless ol’ woman
just forgot. Good way to get a busted pipe!
My calendar is filled out for this week. Dentist tomorrow; vet
on Wednesday or Thursday; and Reece’s graduation ceremony on Friday. Never a dull
moment! And then, too, the middle coop needs to be cleaned out again. Those
birds eat a bunch and do the stuff that results in a bunch! But at least the
old woman has the energy to get the job done for keeping the place semi-clean.
Actually, taking Sylvia to the vet is going to be almost as much fun as going
to the dentist!!
These two dogs licked up every bite of the pork that was
turned into barbecue. Maybe it was just the right sauce that was needed. It
just gave me indigestion. Figures. Think maybe boiled eggs might be better for
me.
We must pray for peace of mind and peace from the
destructiveness in this world. Have to glance at the news from time to time,
but it is just enough to turn my stomach. Horrors upon horrors. Opinions that
resemble those infamous body parts. And all turned against common sense. May
God bless Israel. May our governors use the wisest words and efforts to promote
peace in our states.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
