Another Change.
Jennifer called me a bit ago to let me know that my
neighbor on the south has left us behind to go on to her reward. It’s going to
be hard on her children. Gail was only 68. Guess she enjoyed her three
children, her husband, her friend, and oodles of grands. But still, though we
never really talked much, she will be missed on this ol’ hill. She ran a
daycare called Jack and Jill’s that made a difference in the lives of many a
young child. Deep sigh.
Michelle Malay sent me an invitation to a group that she
has joined for women over 60. It looks like it will be an interesting group. It
is amazing what some women can do as they age and still keep busy. It makes me
think that sitting still is not really that important unless it is to read a
good book. Well, then there is reading and watching things on FB! Some of the
videos of critters just make me laugh out loud!
Cleaned both coops this morning and moved the feed cans
around as well. Not sure just how the hens will take it, but one Amber Link was
in the nest while the old woman was in there stirring up the feathers and shtuff.
That hen just ignored me and did her thing. In fact, eight of them did a good
job of producing eggs today. And two of the eggs were part of my lunch.
Scrambled eggs and waffles made a decent meal. The dogs thought so, too.
Got the floors vacuumed today, but then saw that some stuff
had come out of the grooves in the bottom of my sneakers. Great SHtuff! Oh
well. It was easy to pick up and trash. At least it was not sticky and icky.
Since today was December the first, my “advent” calendar
from Jacqui Lawson had another puzzle open. Love the games and the music. Can’t
understand a word of the songs, but it is not harsh and is relatively easy for
listening. Hanan never could understand why listening to songs did not appeal
to me. My dad had the same problem—hearing without being able to discern the
words exactly. Oh well. Such is life.
Listened to a minister today talk about how the
disciples/apostles were so terribly disappointed at the death of Jesus. Can you
imagine? They really had nothing to base their faith on before He came to them
with encouragement and acceptance. He did not find fault with them, either. He
knew how they must have felt. Just because HE knew what was going to happen did
not mean that they really understood. We now have HIS witness as well as their
testimony. We have to work on our faith just as hard as we can to see what lies
ahead. And it is not always possible to have a positive outlook, no matter what
we think we know. Tonight, my thoughts are with those hostages who were not
brought back to Israel. We, too, are hostages in this world where Satan can cause
us so much pain. Let us pray for them and for the relief that God can give us
from the horrors around us. Let us ask for peace of mind and joy in His love.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
