Finding Highways.
Sterling just asked me how to get to Seymour from here.
Dear Hearts, not remembering the name or number of highways is typical of this
ol’ woman. He’ll find it. If he doesn’t, Jacqui will tell him where he went
wrong! Anyway, enjoyed their visit. Sterling built a four-foot bench and a
table to go with it for me. He thought it would look good on the porch or somewhere
like that. It is in the living room and just fits nicely. The curled arm rests
are neat, too. And the little table has a place under it to stick books that
are being read or getting ready to be read. And he brought several books. We
are both interested in some of the same things. Strange that here we are old as
mud and still find our Bibles as interesting as they were to our parents.
Saw today on the news that our embassy in Iraq had been hit
by mortars. Don’t know how others feel about it, but my dander is fluffed up
somewhat—at least enough that it feels like we need to leave the country and
then throw rocks at it until we can’t find a terrorist! Iran has instigated
every attack on America and Israel so far. Not sure what Russia has an interest
in that country, but if they do, you can bet it is to the detriment of any
other nations. This makes me cry out to our Father in heaven to bring justice
to our world!
For some reason my body and mind are tired tonight. It isn’t
from doing more than usual, but maybe using one’s brain can be almost as tiring
as doing things with the major muscle groups. Whatever the reason, it feels like
a good evening to go take time to read a bit and go to bed after putting up the
hens. Since we tend to get up with the hens, maybe going to bed at the same
time is not a bad idea at all.
Kinda hope that Sterling and Jacqui will stop back by here
on their way home. They said that using the toll roads was terribly expensive.
Know that the ones in the Metromess are very expensive—but definitely worth it!
Not sure if all the nation’s roads are going to eventually have tolls on them
or not, but for sure the dadgummed lottery is not paying for their upkeep—or for
school systems upkeep. Have heard all kinds of excuses for lotteries and casinos,
but the idea that the money would be used for road upkeep or for education is
so much male bovine excretia! Oh well.
Let us hope that we can stay as calm as is necessary to
live out our lives in a peaceful manner. May God pursue our children to bring
them to Him.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
