Dark Drifting Lines.
It looks like lines of smoke drifting behind the hospital
through the air, but surely it is only murmurations of birds of one kind or
another. The birds seem very active lately. Maybe it is the warmer
temperatures, but this morning before seven, a great gaggle of dark looking
cranes came over from the lake and headed east. They had quite the discussion
going on.
This afternoon Thompson decided that we needed another hole
dug out in the side lot next to the hackberry tree. The hens always appreciate
his help in that arena. Those deep holes make nice places to fluff their
feathers in the dust. And the fall asters probably scent the scene nicely as
well. Since the old woman has been sneezing on a regular basis lately, the scent
of asters has not fazed me. Ragweed may or may not have an odor, but it could
not be proven by my experience. This time of the year is sneeze season.
Michelle Malay came today for a very pleasant visit. We
compared what we know about swelling joints and various remedies for the little
puffy places between fingers when one picks up anything and feels as if an
electric shock has zapped out of whatever is picked up. Arthritis is so not
much fun. We also talked about insurance and how little good it does some of
us. SO thankful for the good health that has accompanied me along these past
few years. After that surgery and recovery, it is so much easier to realize
that some folks need all the help they can get if they don’t have the stamina
to keep moving after something like that. Granddad Pollard always said that we
have to keep moving or we won’t be able to move at all. That fella was such a
sweet man and pretty doggone wise at that. He and Grandmother Pollard both kept
right on moving along. At least they had good health for the most part. They
both developed geriatric diabetes, but back then the doctors did not help folks
work with a diet to reduce the amount of carbs that cause trouble. They were so
quick to use drugs to counter high blood sugar instead of adjusting what type
of foods the elderly ate. People don’t seem to realize that our foods are the
same things as medications!
Sent five dozen eggs home with Michelle so she could share
with some folks. By Friday or Saturday, will have some to send home with
Sterling and Jacqui if they want to take them. The hens are certainly doing a
wonderful job of producing eggs. Guess all that expensive feed is worth it.
Have tried to avoid the news today until Patty told me to Google
John Kerry and the climate conference. Oh MY! Laughed until it almost hurt my
guts! Fox made a good case for methane removal—avoid John Kerry. And here he is
trying to get rid of cows because of their methane. If you have no idea what
this is all about, just check out the gas attack on his speech. Giggling.
Maybe instead of sea water being pumped into those tunnels
in Gaza, the Israelis could just pump in the gas attacks from our politicians!
Sorry! My keyboard is having trouble typing while someone giggles.
Number One sent a text message called 52 Clutter-Free
Gifts. One of them that interested me was Mommy and Baby Forklift Operating
classes!! Giggling.
We need some laughs lately. The dogs dig holes, the hens
dust in them, and the birds entertain with their aerial dances that resemble
smoke over the top of the insane asylum. Laugh if you can, but remember that
God laughed first. He told women that good men would be found in every corner
of the world and then made the world round!!
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
