Pickled Tea Green!

 Pickled Tea Green!

God sent us rain! Sudden puddles out back just make me want to grin as wide as my back door! The gauge on top of the house says 0.59 so far, and the temperature gauge says 70 degrees. If the old woman had the energy and sense of balance, she would be outside dancing in the wet stuff! The storm hit with a mighty good wind that blew the dog door open on the deck. That thing is not light either! Anyway, may God let it rain all night and most of tomorrow! Have cabbage for the hens to eat, so they won’t hurt in the least. Even cooked them some sweet potatoes! Plan to mash some of the sweet potato up for the dogs to go in their chicken and kibble. Think they both need some pumpkin or ‘tator. Love sweet potato with butter and a touch of cinnamon. It reminds me of Mom’s pumpkin pies.

Bought four cabbages and a bag of sweet potatoes early this morning and then went to the Feed and Seed Store for lay mash (crumble) and wheat. They have a less expensive brand of wheat, but the last time it had a smell to it. The hens ate it, but it made me worry a bit. Really prefer for them to have veggies, but that is just too expensive for words. This wheat was expensive enough. Lance suggested giving them the bananas that got too ripe. With the bonus points from United, they let me have three or four for free with my groceries. Not really sure how their points and rewards work, but my gasoline is much cheaper when bought from them using the rewards.

Lance told me it was not necessary to go to Sutherlands until Saturday, so that makes me hope that the old woman can come up with a list of things that makes sense. Not sure just how much sense is needed, but probably more than happens naturally lately. God lets us get a little weaker in the getalongs, so is it any surprise that He lets us get a little more ditsy in the thinker? Guess it is just wonderful to still be able to get around and have a laugh or two each day.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
