Clipped!

 Clipped!

Lately it has been a total job to keep these silly hens in the back yard. It seemed that clipping one wing on each of them might not allow them to get away from any predators, but it was either clip their wings or just turn them lose on the neighborhood! Tonight, a bunch—but probably not all—of the pullets had their right wing clipped back a bit. This won’t really keep them from flying, but it will make them wobblier in flight. Both of the dogs wanted to “help” with the chickens, but finally had to bop Sylvia gently on the nose to keep her from getting a mouthful of tail feathers from a hen on my lap. Critters!! One hen knocked my glasses off of my face, but was pleased to find them in the doorway to the coop without any scratches. Spent over $100 today to get new lenses in my frames because the water hose managed [with the old woman’s help] to hit me right in the left eye. One of those times to be thankful for wearing glasses.

Most of you may know that the old woman refuses to watch any network news and almost never reads anything political or financial about what is going on in our country or any other country. Connie Cooke came today and filled me in on some of the latest, and then Patty (my good neighbor on the west) told me a couple of horror stories. It makes me shake to consider what is happening. Man’s inhumanity to man must come straight from the King of Lies. The pain filling my heart only reflects that in many more hearts in many more places. Yes, we know this has been prophesied. But faith, faith in God’s truth—HE cannot lie! His son has already paid the price for our salvation. This life is not nearly as important as the life eternal with God the Father. Whether we are caught up into heaven or resurrected from ashes, it matters not except for where we go finally. May our children each seek God’s will and accept the sacrifice made by the Lamb of God. May our grandchildren see our example of trusting in God and not in any other force.

May our children learn of the armor of God that we must put on each day: Ephesians 6:11-18 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

May each of you shine with the fruits of the Spirit.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
