Some Things Matter.

 Some Things Matter.

First, will ask you to pray for Sharon Dickerson. She has another UTI. Those things can cause all kinds of problems. Then, she has to go back to the hospital to have stints removed on Tuesday if they think she can deal with it. Just really want her to get over this feeling bad all the time and get her stamina back.

Maggie Sewell has rotator cuff surgery on Tuesday as well. Know how that affected Lewis. It was not fun. Let’s hope that it heals quickly and completely so she can maneuver as a person should be able.

Maryellen Showhalter showed her potato salad on FB this morning and made me wish for some. Made and sampled and put in the fridge for now. The fajita meat is cooked and will make a good supper combined with ‘tator salad.

Up early and showered, washed the mane, and tried to have the right attitude. Then went out and tackled the hinge problem on that door that Stephen made for the hens’ coop. Got it done after a bit and a few of those famous words. Think maybe tomorrow morning will be a good time to try to work on the shop doors if it does not rain. Bought the hinges yesterday at Sutherland’s. It does make a difference if you have the right stuff when working. Will admit it took putting it up there and taking it down twice before everything went together right, but was determined to do it the same way that Lewis had put on the metal doors on the coop. It worked. Here’s hoping that the wooden doors go up as easily.

Usually only cool one room at a time around here because—well, partly because of the expense, but mainly because we don’t need any brown outs. Try to do all the laundry either very early or very late when it is cooler. Right now, the bedroom AC is on because an old woman plans on a nap here in a bit. Slept well last night, but my body just gets to dragging after a bit. For sure the floors need to be cleaned again, but vacuuming today is simply not going to happen. Washed the covering sheet on the bed where Sylvia has left her dirty imprint. That dog! She is a mess!

Bought something called Dr. Joseph’s Vetpro Complete hip and joint stuff for Thompson. The directions say to give him double the dose the first week and then the normal dose from then on. He not only let me put one in his mouth, but he took each one after that happily! That amazes me! Here’s hoping that it helps the old man to get around better. Now if only they made something an old woman could take for the same results that would be easy to chew up. Tried that “Move On” stuff. Think it sat in my stomach and just turned over and over before IT moved on. Oh well.

The chicks flew out of their coop like ants after a sucker this morning. Mary Rhoads brought over some fallen plums that they inspected. Even if they don’t eat them, the plums may sprout for little trees next year. Wouldn’t that be something! Have really enjoyed watching the chicks even though another one got out of the side gate again. Soon they will be too big to fit those little spaces. And, too, they don’t run too fast or too far from me, so it’s easy to catch them and pitch them back over the fence.

Dinn-upper is on my desk along with a travel mug of peach tea. Love that kind of tea! Need to start a grocery list and put tea at the top. Used up all the dill relish in my potato salad, so that might get put on there as well. And the fajita meat is so tender that it makes me like beef again.

My nap was interrupted to begin with by texts from Mary. Her friend wants to buy eggs from me. Nope. Never have sold any and won’t start now. Trade, maybe, but not sell.

The temps are over 100 this afternoon according to my gauges. The little chicks are hiding in any and all the cool places in the shade. Heard my wheelbarrow cheep a bit ago. Sure enough. Only one under there, but it looked dark and cool. The water in the garden hose was so hot it could have been used for cooking! Had to wait until it cooled down to fill the water bowls again. The danged wild birds got the wire frames off so that they could bathe in them. Argh! Oh well. All God’s creatures get hot.

Tara Ross was suggesting that these primaries or office declarations could be used much like the Electoral College to determine who could run for president. Wondering if we will have a third party this year with a real candidate. Never can tell. Guess God will allow whoever to be in charge—as if He does not determine the outcome in all things. We can be thankful for His guidance.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
