Shopping.
Connie showed me a little shop called Upscale Resale that
turned out to be the neatest place. Shorts and tank tops were the chosen items
needed, so that is what we looked for this morning. Two pair of pants also came
home with me, and it just may be that they get cut up somewhat and turned into
shorts. Love elastic waists when it is something that can be easy to wear.
Anyway, it was a bit of fun even if the entire trip did tire me out a bit. But
we also went to Market Street for lunch and to pick up a few things that were
not on my last list—plus some more blueberries!
Talked to my sister by another mother this morning while
she told me about her family and some of the things going on. Her husband,
Lewis’ cousin Jim, makes money taking the bus for school trips into the field for
whatever they are doing. Guess that is the reason they call them field trips! Field
trips are much more profitable for a bus driver than just the regular routes.
Sharon said that their attic contains items from all of Jim’s
family, but none from hers. How strange that is. But then, our house had
furniture that my MIL thought she could call back to herself even years after
she left WF. Nothing of mine was in her home, but now some of my things are in
Jennifer and Lance’s home. The way life goes, anything that is not living, is
just a THING. Things don’t matter. People do.
The weather here today has not gotten warm—probably not
even 70 degrees—but then it is not the 40 degrees that they are having in
NWArkansas. Sterling said that they have gotten MORE rain on top of rain. Three
inches would be VERY welcome here, but other places out West would not even
notice three inches because the land would just soak it up. When they are not drying
up and blowing away, then they have started shaking up every thing out there! Oh,
earthquakes, wars, and rumors of wars . . .
We are supposed to have storms tomorrow—hail, high winds,
and possible tornadoes. We just have to ask God for protection from the
elements. Patty said she would just like for this crazy wind to stop coming up
every other day. It really does make life a bit difficult when it just about
blows a person sideways!
Planted some potatoes in the greenhouse yesterday. Have
cucumbers in a pot that might grow. Closed the door to that side of the coops
so the hens could not dig things up. Had thought about putting my ONE Cuckoo
Maran in there to see if she would stop being broody if she had zero eggs to
sit on. Sometimes if they are separated from the other hens, they will get back
to laying. Gave two like this to Brenda Jones and she never said whether or not
they ever laid. She would know since their eggs are the chocolate brown. Oh
well.
Really know nothing today. Have several things that need to
be done and no real desire to do them right now. May have to give up and get
Caleb to come use his weed eater. Don’t really need to mow. Ah, decisions!
Let’s be thankful for peace and any kindnesses we can do
for others. Rest your body, your mind, and let God’s love soothe your spirit.
You are loved.
