Taking a DEEP Breath.
Jennifer always advises me: “Mom, take a deep breath. This
will be ok.” She is nearly always right, of course, but some of us are just
Johnny-On-the-Spot to get upset about things. Today, the calming breaths
helped. Got online and canceled all the crud that AOL got me to subscribe to.
None of it was necessary and was just irritating. Anyway, using the computer
today has not been a problem. We will see if this mess ever shows up again.
Meanwhile, guess checking my gmail account would not hurt.
Have to go back to the dental office Friday and see if the
last impression results are any better than the first. It’s pretty important
that teeth actually fit when in dentures. Grinding away at plastic on plastic
does tend to wear down a set over a period of years. But some of us have reason
to be very thankful for such technological advances.
Have another turkey thawing in the bottom of the fridge.
Also, have chicken breasts in the slow cooker that are ready to eat. May make
some instant mashed tators to go with them and make some chicken gravy, too.
Sounds good at the moment.
Clint and Sandy have two great big truck bodies in their yard
ready to be loaded with all the stuff inside the house. They will be leaving by
Friday if my understanding is correct. Sandy showed me their new puppy. Cutest
little thing! So glad it is them with a puppy and not me! Mine have to announce
everything in the neighborhood, but they do their business outside. It is hard
enough to step over the hens when opening the kitchen door, but puppies will
trip an old unobservant woman in a hurry. They said the new neighbor will be
doing a “walk-through” on Saturday. Might get to meet them that day. Or not.
Just hope they will be good neighbors.
Sent a couple of dozen eggs home with John Rhoads tonight.
He said they had some venison that they would not eat. My dogs are not overly
picky about meat, so will try cooking it for them when John drops it by. Mary
is on her fifth week now from this last knee surgery and is still not healing
up all that well. Not sure just why this is, but please remember her in your
prayers. Sterling said that he was SO relieved to get his knee repaired/replaced,
but that he would never do it again! Seems a very painful way to get
your pegs back under you. But if your knees lock up like they do on Michelle
Malay, guess it might be worth it.
Tonight let us be grateful for all the many blessings of
this life. Let us hope that those who are in authority will use common sense
and calmness to meet our national or local problems. And let us pray that God
will help us and guide us to be the kind of folks that He would have us be.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
