Just a Few Frustrations.
It amuses me to hear someone else give their email address
with the aol.com suffix. It pretty well tells me that this person has been
around for a pretty long time. See, we had to use dial up and listen to those
silly sounds when we first got online. The old woman even worked for quite
awhile in a place called a classroom online. Carla Beard was one of the
supervisors there. She asked me to help in the English classroom if memory
serves me right—which it may certainly not! Wrote articles for the “Knowledge
Database.” That was some fun time spent thinking and trying to keep my words
simple. Anyway, lately—for a few days now—AOL has not come up to let me read my
email on my computer. It is not like anything drastic is going to show up
there, but still. Mail is mail, ya know. Not just sure exactly what can be done
to get signed in and online again, but still trying.
Asked Jennifer to post online that computer problems are
keeping me offline. Whether or not AOL will allow me to read my messages, it
seems the blog can still be posted now that the computer is turned back on.
It occurred to me that AOL has been free to me for umpteen
years and that maybe the entire problem was that they want us to buy some kind
of service from them. Before all the conversations were completed, they had
talked me into parting with a credit card number for the amount of $30 a month
for “professional” help with any issues my computer might have. Guess what.
Since each “plan” had a try-out period, they will never get another dime out of
me even if the old woman has to give up her email account!
Talked to Patty briefly. She was in almost as good a mood
as the shouting old battleaxe who lives at this house. She needed a couple of
prescriptions refilled and could not get the doctor’s office to return her
call. Argh! Understood exactly how she felt.
Sandy and Clint are leaving “officially” by Monday. The new
owners will be doing a walk through on Saturday. Certainly hope that they are
as sweet at the Leos family. Did not get too well acquainted with Sandy and
Clint, but liked them pretty well. At least they took care of things over on
that side of the road.
Still reading in that book about Revelation by Lehman
Straus. It was exceptionally slow going until it dawned on me that it was
faster to skip the references the first reading and then go back and read them
the second time around. Not that the old woman believes that the author would
misquote or something, but it just feels better to look at those scriptures to
be sure they are talking along the same lines as his discussion. Just being
careful.
So very tired this evening. It might be just the
frustrations, but it also might be the weather. Such is life. Even after a hard
shut down and restart, this computer and AOL are not going to work together.
That just irks me! May have to change and start using the other email from
gmail. Let’s see if that even works. Great, at least gmail is working. In case
you want to send me a message: the email is gtgdickerson@gmail.com
Isn’t it wonderful that the Holy Spirit can speak FOR us
when we are groaning in our minds and spirits. We don’t have to wait for a
particular setting or a prescribed manner for prayer. We can ask Our Father for
whatever we may need—even though He already knows what we need. But if we fail
to ask and suffer in silence, the Spirit will ask for us. Praise God for His
mercies.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
