Cooking Again--Dog Food.

 Cooking Again—Dog Food.

Just fried up four pounds of venison hamburger that suffered from freezer burn. John told me all it was good for was dog food. My dogs certainly did not seem to mind. Have another six pounds thawing in the fridge. Not many dogs get this kind of extra special food. Of course, Sylvia tried to have Thompson’s too, but made her leave it alone. He finally got over there and ate his food. Think this is why she has gained so much weight. She eats her food and then his if he has not finished or isn’t really interested. Sigh.

Talked to Sterling while frying up venison. He made a three-level pantry for a lady with these slide-out shelves for all of her canning jars full of produce. Now he has decided he wants one with two-level drawers for all his shtuff on his shelves—brake fluid, glue, etc. Sounds like a handy storage place. But then, if he sees a picture of something like this, he can make it! Amazing talent!

The neighbors were outside in the rain last night trying to get everything packed into those great big trucks parked in their yard on the concrete slab. It certainly is a good thing that they were not having to deal with mud. Just wondering how things are going to go when they pull that big storage container across the Leos’ yard. The container is empty, but those things are not light. And this is a big one. Guess it is not exactly my problem. (Missed seeing it leave by being at the dentist office. Oh well.)

Have an appointment for 11:30 at the dentist office and am hoping the sucker fits this time. (It was tight, but it fit! Praise God!) Then the back yard has to be cleaned up. After that, the floors in this house are demanding attention! Oh wow! What a mess two dogs and one old woman can make! Still have not figured out how to keep the cushions on the little divan in the living room. Would hate to have to strap them on with bungee cords!! Started out trying to keep the dogs off of it. Well, we know how that works, hmm.

Was so very happy to see the post by Diann Dennis that said Rene—her granddaughter with cancerous tumors in her eyes—was doing better and only has maybe two more rounds of chemo or laser or whatever they are doing to remove the tumors. The child has the most precious smile and seems to stay cheerful no matter what. Your prayers have helped.

Asked John how Mary was doing this morning. He said she had a good day yesterday! We’ll take that! Good days are to be appreciated!

The floors are now vacuumed, but not mopped except for most of the kitchen. Did not move the table and wagon. But the yard is still overflowing with shtuff that needs to be picked up and pitched or composted. Thinking of trying to make a compost pile with some chicken wire and stakes. We will see how that goes.

Stopped by United and got some brunch. The dogs were happy to have the skin off a broiled chicken for a snack. Now that the old woman is semi-pooped from doing some work, nothing else may get done. Was happy, however, to gather up 14 eggs from the nests today. Kinda amazing! Will have some eggs this next week for Dr. B. Sent three dozen home with Weldon for Judie early today. Anyway, thinking seriously about a nap. Did not sleep well again last night. Oh well. Naps are nice.

Let’s be grateful for the rain here in Texas where it is needed, and we can pray for the folks who are getting all the snow and ice. Let’s pray that everyone who can stay off the roads has sense enough to stay at home. May you all be blessed with warm feet and hands.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
