Visiting by Phone.
Texas is a big state, and not all my family live within its
borders. But friends and family outside the state are always on my mind. Today,
visiting with my daughter made me smile, as did a conversation with my friend
AnnaBeth. Cats. Not any live here now, but Jenn has one that is 18 years old
now. AnnaBeth says that the two who live at her house are confined to one area
of the house and are not allowed outside in case of fleas or just whatever
comes along. Cats are usually pretty able to take care of themselves, but not
always. And some dogs can fall over their own feet—about like an old woman! Let’s
face it; the older we get, the more determined we have to be to walk lightly
and step carefully. So, here’s thanks for modern communication.
Cooked a small pumpkin today and fried some chicken livers.
So far, the dogs approve the chicken livers, but still wanted their usual bowl
of kibble with chicken for supper. Oh well. May see about taking them to the vet
tomorrow to see if there is something that can be done for Thompson’s
allergies. And also, if possible, to get Sylvia’s toenails trimmed. She is a
terror about her toes. But she chews on her toenails and gets them all sore
when the nail breaks. Argh!
Having a salad for dinner tonight. Yellow bell pepper,
mushrooms, romaine, tomato, grated cheddar, avocado, cooked chicken breast, chips,
and bacon ranch dressing—just forgot to cut up the cucumber. Good stuff,
Maynard! Does anyone remember Dobbie Gillis? It was a show we watched years
ago. Dobbie’s friend Maynard only ate hamburgers! Dobbie kept trying to get
Maynard to eat “real” food. Sounds like me eating stuff at Jennifer’s house.
Her boys had no idea where all those veggies came from!! They DO know about
eggs, however. They both can cook now.
Don’t know much this evening. Stood out on the deck and
visited with Jenn and listened to the idiots racing down South Kemp in their
little race cars—a Mustang and something else. The noise is a bit much, but
maybe it is a fairly safe place for them to race up and down. Just hope they
never hit anyone.
The hens are grazing on everything green on this hill. They
are laying around ten eggs a day now. Not going to gripe! Asked Jenn about putting
six eggs into a quart freezer bag. That’s about enough for an omelet. She
thought it meant “in the shell.” Nope, cracked open and dumped inside the bag
will freeze just fine. Anyway, she was ok with the idea. Will start freezing
eggs soon.
Pretty much staying offline right now so that taking a deep
breath does not make me wonder what kind of bs there is in the air to inhale. God
knows what is going on and who will be blessed and who will be cursed. It is
already written: those who bless you will be blessed and those who curse you
will be cursed. You KNOW who and what He is mentioning. Be sure your words are
a blessing.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
