Cost vs Preferences.
Can’t say that turkey is one of my favorite meats, but
generally it beats any kind of pork—including pork roast or whatever. But at 97
cents a pound, the turkey is cooked and deboned and awaiting the sectioning
into Ziplock bags or something of that nature. The dogs enjoyed—or seemed to
enjoy—the skin and some of the tougher parts of the meat that came off the bird
quickly. Those critters have more bones than a chicken any day, so care has to
be put into whatever is given to the dogs. My choice was a potato—pure carbs,
of course!!
Have had the fans on today, but the AC was not really
necessary. Doesn’t look as if we will get too warm this weekend. The drizzling
stuff we got the other day was not really enough to call rain, but the rain gauge
had a bit over a tenth of an inch in it. We’ll take what we get.
Cleaned the fridge and rearranged the shelves to make
enough room to stack egg cartons so the kids will have eggs when they come—whenever
that turns out to happen. The hens are doing their part, so now it is up to
whichever grandchild gets here first.
The kitchen, living room, hall, and front bedroom have all
been vacuumed, but the old woman did not mop yet. Sometimes just getting all the
vacuuming done is about all she wrote for one day. Saying, “all she wrote” makes me think of
Hanan’s friend Caleb Williams whose band is called “All She Wrote.” Think he
lives somewhere in Arizona, and they have places there where they play their
music. Hanan would probably like the kind of music they play.
Alaska—at least Anchorage—got about 18 inches of snow
yesterday. That could make quite a few snowmen. Wouldn’t mind seeing “some”
snow in Texas this year, but the ice and high winds are not especially needed
or appreciated.
Sterling said that he and Jacqui ended up doing some
grocery shopping today. He thinks that dog food is pretty expensive. People
food is not exactly cheap, however. They ended up letting Walmart get a bit
over $300 from them. Then they went out to eat for another thirty dollars! It
used to amaze me that we could buy groceries and still not have much to put on
the table! Truly, things have not changed all that much.
Don’t want to watch the news, but had to laugh when the
Americans said that Israel was going to have compassionate pauses of fighting for
the Palestinians to go south in Gaza. Nope, that is not what the Israelis
said at all. They are opening up areas that the people in Gaza can use to go
south, but they have not and will not cease to fight. Can you blame them!
Slaughter innocent babies and then think that they will stop fighting! Stupid.
Honestly think that reading what Baxter said about how
Jesus used scriptures from the book of Daniel made me laugh. You know the men
in charge of the synagogue were not happy that Jesus knew the scriptures so
well. He did not come from a wealthy family and probably had no more education
than most of the folks around Nazareth in those days. But HE KNEW. Don’t you
know the men of the synagogue resented him! It reminds me of what Israel is
saying to America right now—kind of tweaking their noses. They will do what
they will do because it is THEIR nation!
May God bring His kingdom soon!
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
