Cousins.

 Cousins.

Called my dearest, oldest cousin tonight: Betty Eaton Keyes. If she can find her invitation, she might be reading some of the blogs—or not. Just loved the fact that her next hair appointment is on January second—the hundredth anniversary of her parents’ wedding. Wish it were not so difficult to go see her or for her to come up to visit. But that is Texas and traveling anywhere!

Took my neighbor Patty to see her doctor today. She got it over with, and we took off for a hamburger place on Jacksboro Highway. They have the best frito chili pies ever, but all this old girl wanted was a big chocolate milk shake and a bag of the best onion rings in Texas! Scott’s Drive-in has the best food and the slowest service around. But they stay busy, too. When you want good food of that type, just take a trip and wait for them to get you your food!

From cleaning the coops yesterday and driving today, the old muscle that cramps up on the right side made itself known—emphatically. Just happened to have a bottle of extra strength Tylenol in the truck with me. By the time we got Patty unloaded with food and oxygen tank, things were about feeling decent. Really resent the fact that my back has done so well, but that something about moving around and doing things makes those leg muscles give me fits. Ah well. Such is life. At least walking is better these days.

Saw Michelle Malay today briefly. She came by for some eggs and to bring my dogs some goodies. They love her anyway, but they know she always has something for them. At least Sylvia did not jump up on her this time. Wish an easy fix was available for teaching a dog not to jump up. Poor Sylvia has always been so hyper that she hardly knows what to do with herself when she gets excited. Know kinda how she feels.

Need to get busy and check my email. Have not been online much at all today. Finished a good book and between that and running around, just did not turn on my computer. That happens.

Can’t believe it is shorts weather again. Had the AC on again in the office this afternoon. Dang! Then received a “blanket hoodie” from Lance and Tracy in the mail. It is big enough for me and a dog or two hens to wear. Inside it has that sherpa warm stuff and a huge pocket across the front. Tried it on just so the kids could see it. Certainly was plenty warm enough! They more or less made fun of me—look like the “hood” type of clothing with my face hidden inside. Bet it will be VERY nice about February!

And yes, prayers for rain would be appreciated here in Texas. Sounds like the West is about to get buckets of rain from a “storm” type thing that is about to get them. Might pray for protection for those who live along the coast or in low-lying areas. Some of the country seems to get the rain we need and they don’t want. Well, maybe this rain will fill up the Grand Canyon and Lake Mead or something.

Tami Yonts seems to be doing pretty well. Will know soon if all the cancer is gone. Still have not heard from the doctors about my sister-in-law Jacqui. Nothing ever happens when we want to hear about stuff. Patience is a virtue, and mine never seems to stick around.

Talked to Roger Thonton briefly today and tried to get him to promise not to tell anyone how technologically dumb this old woman is. He asked what kind of phone was being used. Umm. One that takes and sends calls and sometimes pictures. A number for a phone make or model. Good grief! It makes noise. It has gadgets on it that are sometimes handy when searched for. The older the old woman gets, the grumpier she gets. And ask her if she really gives a cat’s back leg!

You all know what God has in store for this world and for us. Let us pray for all our children that they may be drawn to Him.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
