Cooler to Go!

Cooler to Go!

Yes, we MIGHT get some cooler weather—slightly less than 100 degrees! Meanwhile, the two cube coolers came by USPS today. Now both of them are sitting on my desk—either side of my keyboard. It may take using ice cubes in the little tank to really cool much, but the water definitely makes a difference in the heat.

For some reason, Sylvia has decided that she wants to be right next to me—or maybe have her chin on me. Silly dog. But then, Thompson prefers to be under my desk—on my feet whether or not it is appreciated. At least once today, Thompson stayed inside while we went to the coop. It really was hot out there!

Was at the Weaver Oil Change place at 8:03 this morning. Drove Patty’s car nearly into that pit thing. The guy was saying something and waving his hands around like one of those guys at the airport. Anyway, after finally getting the window down, his words were easier to understand. Pulled the wheel right and got the tire back on solid ground. After the two guys said that they were not even open yet (the garage door was up!) and that there was something out there to tell you whether or not to come in. Whatever! If ya don’t want someone driving inside, keep the door closed. Anyway, that is one less worry for Patty.

My brother married the first time into a family with an entire milkmaid team. They had great big ol’ cows and lots of girls to care for them. Anyway, the youngest of the girls was Carla Jean True. Well, her married name is Beeman. Sterling asked me to pray for her as she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She has already lost sisters to the crud that seems to afflict just about every family. So many women have more than just survived cancer, however. Let’s hope that the doctors who treat Carla Jean will know what they are doing. Meanwhile, we can ask God to heal her.

For some reason, nothing is overly amusing to me this evening. Yesterday, though, my son gave me a good laugh. His wife is a librarian, by the way, so the cartoon really does make sense. It shows a cowboy hiding behind a big stone while he has a tiny rope tied to a 2x4 in the distance that is holding up a great big box. Inside the box on the ground is a big book shelf. The caption says: Attempting to capture a wild librarian using a trap baited with a badly-organized bookshelf. The librarian is a thick stick figure coming from the other direction.

Well, maybe jokes are not my strong suit, but since a good joke can start the day off good, here is my invitation to leave a good, clean joke for us.

God made us. Our emotions and our ability to laugh about things had to come from Him. Let us appreciate the wonderful gamut of our nature.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
