A Dog’s Rest.
Yep, that has been the day’s “work” for these two dogs and
an old woman—just resting. Worked a bit harder yesterday or went at it rather
strongly, at least. Today it caught up with some sore muscles and some allergy
problems. Oh well. Tomorrow is another day. When we wake up, we can be thankful
for the rest of the night before. Then we can let our bodies determine how much
energy can be expended in some other activities. Sitting here hoping the early
morning will bring just a bit of cool air and a visit with a friend.
Saw a video of a woman who always wanted to be a ballerina
even though she was definitely plus sized. She found some really nice ballet
shoes she liked that fit her oversized feet, and it seemed that she was
teaching small children to dance, no matter how small or large they were.
Ballet is not just for skinny people who fit a certain mold. Remembering back
bunch of years ago when someone decided to teach ballet to a football team. Don’t
remember whether or not it helped them win any games, but it could not have
hurt them to learn to bend in different ways. That is the sort of thing that we
expect from horses when we are training them. We all need a few lessons in how
to bend and sway our thoughts and feelings. Life does not give us much choice,
but it does not need to be as hard on us if we are willing to change our ways.
Words sometimes cause us to back off from folks. The ones
who ask if they can pray for you might be offensive to some. But the person
whose actions show love are better examples of prayer in motion. Things we do
for others make us aware of the needs of many. Sometimes we can help. Sometimes
we need help. Either way, the opportunities are sent from above. Try to accept
them.
The shingles (not the kind on the house) are about to do my
brother in. He keeps taking the medicine and trying to do what the doctor says,
but he is just pretty doggone miserable. Would appreciate your prayers for him.
Friend Carol Thonton comes up with names for the children
who are struggling with health problems. She called my nephew Jacob the
Lion-hearted. She came up with a name for the granddaughter of Diann Dennis
that made me feel it was just about perfect for a little one who is fighting
cancer in her eyes: Raye Louise, Princess of Light. Please remember this child
in your prayers.
Have avoided thinking about the world and its crazy
conditions today as it makes me feel quite distraught. Let us ask God to touch
those who so desperately need His hands on them. Let us be more aware of the
joy of His love. May our lives be lived as a light for others.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
