And The Search Goes On . . . .

And The Search Goes On . . .

The title up there should be read to the tune of “and the beat goes on.” Last night the old woman could hardly breathe and kept trying to go through all the drawers and med cabinets to find my “good” allergy meds. Did not find them. Finally took a Benadryl. Argh! Yes, sleep is good, but it is better when it is not induced by a drug like that. FINALLY found my allergy meds this morning in the living room in my good desk. Of course. That desk had been in my office originally, but had both of them in there and then changed that one to the living room. TWO bottles of allergy pills in there to keep me from scratching and snorting!

The plane that is supposed to take Jenn and Gary to London was still on the ground at DFW the last time she sent a message. Seems that they are getting rain and plenty of lightning. It’s Texas. What else should we expect? The “Find Me” app on my phone says that she is still on the ground, but that may not be accurate. Anyway, just hope that the flights that they are meeting up with later will take them to Aberdeen tonight. They have reservations there. Feel so very happy and excited for them. Jennifer and her silly ol’ mother totally enjoyed themselves in England and Scotland and later Paris. The trip was definitely worth it.

Most of you will notice that there is a post here on Common Sense from Danny Pollard’s wife Rachelle. When asked how she is doing, “tired, need sleep” was the answer. So, let’s pray not only that the doctors can help Danny recover and live out a full life, but that Rachelle can keep teaching her students and loving her family—with rest as needed.

Seems the group of men that have a Bible study on Thursday at the church where Sterling goes have men who carry all the time. Yes, they trust in the Lord for protection, but they are also prepared to protect others as well. Praise God for men such as these!

Ever felt as if you were subject to a waste of time because of your own silliness. Once or three times—do your own counting—this old woman has thought that maybe a diet might work for her and the extra pounds she has accumulated over the years. You know that they have the ideal weights for folks according to height, build, and activity level. Well, shucks. They can fast, do Keto, do crunches, walk miles, avoid carbs, avoid sugar, and just quit eating anything that resembles decent food and all it does for me is tick me off and put my temper up there with that mean sucker that bit someone’s ear off! So, have decided to eat what appeals to me when and if the mood strikes. As long as the old body will remain in moving order, what the heck difference does it make? Yes, am well aware that too much sugar or carbs will add to the risk of diabetes. So will sitting there twiddling your thumbs all day no matter what you eat. A person should get up off their backside and DO something! Make the bed when ya get out of it; dust mop the floors, shoo the dogs off the furniture, mess with the hens, check to see if the grass is three times as high as the hyacinths, and maybe walk down to visit the neighbor and see if HER dogs need exercise! And one of the best exercises involves looking up—or bowing your head—up to you—and thanking God for all the blessings—including the extra layer of fat on your belly or backside! If you have a bit of fat on you, that undoubtedly means you have had plenty to eat. God gave you that blessing, too.

Let’s continue to pray for the little ones that need extra blessings right now: Madison Hodges (needs a new kidney), Zeke Ambrosius, Raye Louise (granddaughter of Diann Dennis), Jacob (the Lion Hearted), Danny Pollard, my silly brother who managed to get shingles and have hernia surgery at the same time, and the rest of the old farts and fartlets who just take life one trial at a time!

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
