Learning New Things.

 Learning New Things.

Ok, maybe we get smarter—or wiser—as we get older, or maybe some of us just stay the same no matter what. Trying to learn a different system using a phone should not be that difficult. But yours truly has entered a password oodles of times now to try to connect with Life 360 with my family on this new phone. It has not connected to anything as far as what it tells me. Oh well. Jenn and Lance can keep up with me with some other thing they have on their phones. Most of the time, yours truly knows where she is—more or less.

Jo Ann’s husband came and mowed Jerry’s yard today. Guess that means another pack of rats will be over to visit soon. Put out two traps this morning and have stuff out that might take care of the small ones. Saw one in the chicken coop early this morning that looked like one of those Norway rats—huge sucker! Wish the dogs could get them as fast as they surface! Despise rats—even worse than snakes.

Have done diddly-squat today. Went out early this morning to drink a cup of coffee and changed the water for the hens. Sat down on the yard swing and decided to lie down on it instead of just sitting. Fell asleep. Go figure! Came back in and did a few things before deciding to take a nap. Not sure why naps have become such a necessity, but no sense in fighting it. Maybe tomorrow will be a more energetic day.

My recent hair cut has decided to stand up on the left side and salute or something. Maybe it is the way my head lies on the pillow, but it certainly makes my head look off balance. Just amusing. Who knows! Maybe my off-balance walking has gone to my head!

The dogs have been happy to stay inside most of the day. Even though we have had much hotter summers, it seems the humidity is just a bit much lately. Gripe, natter, groan, whimper. It’s August in Texas.

Talking to Patty yesterday about the air horn she sent up here. Have not tried it. She tried hers and said it about blew her and the two dogs off the couch! That really made me laugh. Those two dogs act as if they are brave, but they scamper behind her at the least excitement. Can just see all three of them about having a warm water hemorrhage.

Have you ever had one of those things sent to you in your email where they want you to sign in to the hospital account so that they can tell you the results of tests or that you have an appointment? Well, yours truly had trouble with the passwords again and couldn’t get into the file. Therefore, no information is forthcoming from UnitedRegional—whatsit. Infuriating is putting it mildly. Why can’t they just call or send a regular email. Oh well. Tomorrow will see a phone call to a doctor’s office to see if an appointment has been made. And then maybe a call made to URHC or whatever the initials are now. Argh!

Because passwords have to be so complicated, it seems silly that a person can’t just use something familiar only to that individual, but passwords, in order to be considered “strong,” have to have numbers, keyboard characters, a Walt Disney nephew, and the forbidden fruit salad. Someday someone will invent something less likely to be lost or guessed at by some bad character who wants to hijack one’s accounts. So sickening to have to protect one’s property of all kinds just because someone has nothing better to do than steal things. We don’t have enough trees in Texas to take care of the rustlers—much less other varmints.

Really don’t have much on my mind tonight. Not that that situation is uncommon. But still trying to keep sane and avoiding the local news, the international news, the political BS, and even the weather summaries. Have ONE book that never fails to encourage me, and will just stick with the “news” in that one.

Rest well, and remember the One Who cares for His children. You are loved.
