Stranger Things.

 Stranger Things.

This morning a conversation with Chris Ohm resulted in his showing me the picture of a leopard kitten that had been found here in WF county. Amazing. Apparently, some guy had had some wild cats that had escaped. Imagine walking outside to feed the critters and having a leopard sitting on the dog house! That sort of thing might not ever happen, but it probably would not be any more surprising than having a bobcat kitten sitting on one’s porch. Patty said that she definitely was not listening for any more sounds near her porch! She does not want any more wild cats on her property.

Just fed these two dogs. They are special and know it! Thompson had to go check to see if Sylvia had cleaned her bowl. He might be just a bit hungrier than she is since he prefers homemade food to dogfood. Can’t blame him. My supper is thawed macaroni and cheese with chicken and black olives.

Went out to the shed today to try to get the silly zero turn to start. It didn’t. Chris said that his brother might be able to look at it and see if he could figure out what is wrong. It really is distressing to think that it is messed up somehow. But one way or the other, the grass has to be cut. Patty is paying out the kazoo to have hers cut, but this old woman can’t deal with that kind of expense. Might have to go rustle up some sheep. Maybe Brenda Jones would like to let some of her critters come nibble grass for me. Not likely!

Lance has said that he has sent videos and pictures, but they are not coming through on my phone. Will have to ask Jennifer how to reach them or where to find them. Being a non tech person can be the pits. Know that Alaska is definitely worth seeing.

The antibiotics are making me feel yucky, but Dr. Blackwell said if it got to be too much, she would look at the bite and decide if we need to try something else. Have a feeling the drugs are worse than the bite!

Thompson is wanting out to go chase that squirrel in the front yard. Wildlife inside the city limits can be quite the temptation and frustration for dogs and cats. In Petrolia where we grew up, letting the dogs run around was not that big of a deal, but there is no way it would be safe here. Too many vehicles and too many people. Thompson is a good guard dog, but would not want him chewing on anyone and getting into trouble. He is vaccinated, of course, but that is beside the point.

Saw that Nikki’s husband had his hand hurt today messing with a horse. In their profession, it is not a matter of IF they will get hurt, but rather when and how badly. Let’s face it. Animals are very strong and very unpredictable. As much as the love of animals has always been a part of my life, can realize now that it was a gift from God that yours truly never had anything broken.

Will be praying for those who are going into the hospital this week, those who have Covid or are recovering from it, and those who are suffering from the trauma of all the violence of this past week. Our world continues to increase its uncertain balance of good and evil. Let us pray that God’s peace will be with all of us.

Be grateful for each day. Praise His name. You are loved.
