We had a meeting of the teachers and the director yesterday. I keep bristling at the concept that we have to deal with people's PERCEPTIONS rather than with facts. And then my cousin in Arabia sent a link to me that made me understand the idea better. The video is of the first place winner at Cannes. Notice that the man's contribution was understanding.

I wish I could show this to all of my students. Maybe that will happen yet. But right now I will just try to incorporate my own little bit of understanding into the words I use and how I hear what is said to me.
